Holiday Boat “Sleigh Rides”
We all loved driving around looking at Christmas lights as a kid. Just imagine if we could have done that by boat! This past weekend we made that happen with our boating “sleigh rides.” It was a great way to kick off the holiday season! The NC Holiday Flotilla has a “Door to Dock” decorating contest on their traditional Flotilla route from the drawbridge down Motts Channel into Banks Channel and to the Coast Guard Station. The dock decorating contest started in 2020 when the traditional Flotilla was cancelled. Lucky for us, the contest was held again this year in addition to the traditional Flotilla. He weather was perfect both nights for event. The temperature was mild and the winds were calm, which makes for a very enjoyable ride. It was a successful weekend of sleigh rides, and we are already looking forward to next year!

We all loved driving around looking at Christmas lights as kids, and this event brought that same feeling to the water with our holiday “sleigh rides.” Guests cruised along the traditional NC Holiday Flotilla route, taking in the decorated docks from the drawbridge through Motts Channel, Banks Channel, and toward the Coast Guard Station. The dock decorating contest made the ride even more festive, and the weather could not have been better. With mild temperatures and calm winds both nights, it made for a smooth and enjoyable cruise. It was a great way to kick off the holiday season, and we’re already looking forward to doing it again next year.
