The Boat Club Members’ kickoff event was held at the home of Marion and Ed Schloemer, fittingly located on Boatswain Place. The Schloemers graciously welcomed around 30 Boat Club members and guests for an evening of wine pairings, appetizers, dinner, and great company. Boat Club member Jolene Unland, owner of KNOW WINES, led the evening with her expertise in wine selection and pouring. Guests were introduced to a variety of wines, including an Oregon Dry Gewürztraminer, a Cabernet Franc paired with the evening’s entrée, and a French Banyuls dessert wine that paired perfectly with chocolate. The night was both enjoyable and educational, with Jolene sharing her knowledge in a fun and approachable way. Many thanks to Marion and Ed for opening their home, and to Jolene for helping create such a memorable evening of good food, good wine, and great friends.
